Our School
Christian Fellowship School offers classes for students from Pre-kindergarten for three-year-old to seniors in high school. We have had students in attendance from all over Southern Illinois (Carbondale, DeSoto, Murphysboro, Vergennes, Elkville, Dowell, Du Quoin, Pinckneyville, Mulkeytown, Royalton, Coello, West Frankfort, and Benton) and host international students from around the world.
We believe there is no better use of your resources than giving your child a Christian education! It will pay dividends for a lifetime. The fundamentals of reading, writing, and arithmetic are emphasized at all grade levels with attention given to history, patriotism, and science. High school students may choose from elective classes including foreign languages, and driver's education. Physical education is required daily for all students in grades 7-12. Science classes are held in a well-equipped laboratory and outdoor observation and experimentation compliment the lab experience.
School begins at 8:30 am each morning and ends at 3:30 pm each afternoon. Students may be dropped off as early as 7:00 am each morning at a small additional charge. After care is also available each afternoon until 5:30 pm for a small fee.
Christian Fellowship School uses the A Beka curriculum, not common core. Our class sizes are small, and we offer research-based, hands-on instruction using differentiated education. Students have opportunities to work individually, in small groups, and as a class. Many of our seniors graduate high school already having earned college credits, having taken dual credit classes at John A. Logan College.
Christian Fellowship School makes learning fun! We take field trips to the pumpkin patch, visit local farms, take picnics, have socials, host teas for parents, and have had many classroom celebrations!
Our students have had the opportunity to study 3D printing at the lab at Rend Lake Community College, air flight using simulators at The Southern Illinois Regional Airport, hands-on science at The Science Center in St. Louis, and animal behavior at the St. Louis Zoo.
Christian Fellowship School has competed academically with other Christian schools during the Heartland Christian Conference. It was held annually and included Speech and Music, and Bible and Academic competitions. Students from other area Christian schools competed in Speech and Music events and Bible Facts and Scriptures, checkers and chess, needlework, art (drawing, painting and sculpture), creative writing (essay, poetry and short story writing), English grammar, math teams, photography (architecture, nature and portrait), science (collections and research), and wood working.
Christian Fellowship School has had a trap team with students as young as fifth grade who learned gun safety and shot competitively at weekend meets against other schools (both Christian and public).
Family is very important at Christian Fellowship School. Children need a loving home to return to after school. We provide that experience to our international students. Maybe you will be able to host an international student in your home for the school year!
Now is a great time to check out Christian Fellowship School! If you have any questions, feel free to call Christian Fellowship School (618-542-6800)!
We're not just a school, we're a family!
